The thing I noticed more than anything was how short everyone must have been back then. And then, it always seemed to me that the preservationist hadn't done a very good job of keeping it "secluded" for lack of a better word. You don't want to say sacred, because it wasn't a sacred place or event, yet the lack of even some "profoundness" surprised me. You know what I mean - like when you go to the WWII memorial, there is that feeling of awe. Is it just because it is large?

Robyn and Lisa,thank you. It seems we are very tall and bulky compared to a couple of years ago! I was also amazed at the location of the grounds. I presumed it would be out of town in a field...not so. X marks the spot and the spot is the center of the city!
