flower among the thorns

Thanks to everyone who has written well wishes and inquiries about my mother in law. She went in for surgery this afternoon. Oy what a mess! So glad she had a blessing the other day!

When the doc got in there he found both bones broken, one crushed like we thought. They repaired both, one with a piece of metal to wrap or lay aside the bone, bone grafts, and some screws that will be taken out after a bit of healing. That's the short of it. The long of it is she is getting better, albeit feeling extremely beat up at the moment.

Thanks to everyone for your sweet concerns.

So glad things are on the mend. This is the tough part though because of the time involved, so more prayers are coming.

Thor is my kind of guy, I ran down and read your comment to Adorable Hubby. He said that he's looking forward to capital B's as well. ;)

Oh owwwwwwwwwwwwww! I hope she's feeling okay and the healing has begun. Where's she at? Or was it outpatient surgery?

She was originally seen at your home town ER who suggested she be transported that afternoon to where my kids were born, that hospital said, "um,no, have her come in the next a.m." So over they went, got a second temp cast on and sent home. 3 days later that cast broke or shifted or something so they went back in. That doc said,"why didn't we do surgery on this?" did the surgery and there you go. It was scheduled out patient for 11:30 yesterday morning, she didn't get out of recovery until 12:30 last night. All great plans as it were. She is currently at home.

Thanks Real Mom, I'm heading down to morrow to help out. That's part of having a big ol' family, there's always someone available, and tamale is my turn! So off I go with soup and comfort in hand!
